Lianne Audette, N.D., L.Ac.
|
|

|
|
Lianne Audette licensed acupuncturist
in California, has been integrating acupuncture into drug and alcohol
treatment settings for the past 11 years. These settings have
included homeless shelters, halfway houses, drop-in clinics, day
treatment, residential and out-patient treatment facilities and drug
courts.
In 1990, she founded
a community clinic known as Turnabout A.S.A.P. which was a non-profit
agency which provided treatment to low and no income addicts on a
walk-in basis. Turnabout was privately funded and did not
suffer from the bureaucratic restraints which publicly funded
agencies do. After 10 years of service in the
community, Turnabout is currently and temporarily inactive.
Audette is a
registered trainer for the
National Acupuncture Detoxification
Association (NADA). As such, she offers seminars for drug and
alcohol treatment professionals about Acupuncture and Chinese
medicine; similarly she educates acupuncturists about chemical
dependency. She consults with treatment programs who are
interested in adding acupuncture detox to the services they
provide.
Additionally, Audette conducts acupuncture detoxification
orientations in community health agencies, and for members of the
judicial system. The orientations demonstrate the importance
of
creating acupuncture-based "alternative to incarceration"
programs. These sessions include videos, lecture, role
playing,
hands-on acupuncture treatment for participants and, of course,
questions and answers.
Currently Audette
practices complementary medicine, integrating her knowledge of
Western medical differential diagnosis and treatment with the
principles and practices of Traditional Chinese Medicine using
acupuncture; herbal medicine; clinical nutrition; individualized
wellness programs and lifestyle/behavior modification
programs.
She holds a
Bachelor's degree in Clinical Nutrition, is a Naturopathic
physician, is licensed in California to practice Oriental
Medicine, and is nationally certified to practice acupuncture. |

John Giordano, CAP
|
 |
|
John Giordano, CAP is president and cofounder of G&G Holistic
Addiction Treatment Center in North Miami, Florida. His life is the
stuff of movies, from a heroin-dealing father in the Bronx, a childhood
in gangs, a karate champion by age 17, and success as a businessman
which led to drugs, alcohol, and disaster. And yet, after successful
intervention by those who still cared for hm and his own unquenchable
desire for self mastery and learning led him to sobriety, recovery, and
the creation of one of the premier addiction treatment programs on the
East Coast. Now, as a Master Addiction Counselor, masters certification
in Neuro-Linguistic Programming, hypnotherapy., and EMDR, he and his
staff of 100 meld the conventional with the innovative in a 52-bed
inpatient/outpatent JACHO accredited center of healing body, mind, and
spirit. For Giordano, the journey from the Bronx to interviews on the
evening news is simply going full circle to an old familiar place of
inner confidence, knowing what doesn't work and sharing with a bigger
audience now what does. |
